Animal Control
The Animal Control Officer is working hard daily to keep stray animals off the streets.
There are several ordinances in place prohibiting citizens from allowing their animals
to roam the streets.
Gerald requires all animals owned by citizens within city limits be up-to-date on their rabies vaccinations and that they recieve a city animal tag. Tags are sold year round at the City Hall.
At the beginning of each year, notices will be sent out reminding everyone to update their
animal tags. However, if at any time in the year a new pet is brought home please bring them to the City Hall immediately to have them licensed.
For further information on animal control ordinances please check out our city ordinance page.
Help keep the city free of stray animals. If you spot a stray or loose animal running at large please take it to the Franklin County Humane Society located in Union or call the Police Department at 764-3424.
